The full list is below and includes new walks and old favourites. From the history of our local pleasure gardens to exploring Ouseburn's wildlife, we've got a themed walk to suit everyone. Walks cost £5 per person | Booking is essential Jump to the booking calendar Tuesday 26 July 7pm Horsepower, the evolution of the horse in the Lower Ouseburn Valley The walk follows how "horsepower" evolved from the reliance of horse drawn wagons and chain horses, through the arrival of the “iron horses", and the adoption of cars and lorries in the 20th century, to the last remaining commercial uses of horses and how they are now predominantly part of the leisure industry. Led by John Emslie. Meet at Stepney Bank Stables, Stepney Bank, NE1 2NP, ends the bandstand under the Railway Viaduct. Tuesday 2 August 5.30pm What's Next for the Ouseburn? A look around future development sites and buildings with the Ouseburn Trust’s Planning and Development Group. Led by Dale Bolland and John Cornhill. Meet at the Ouseburn Trust offices. Tuesday 16 August, 7pm Exploring Wild Ouseburn Led by Cain Scrimgeour from Wild Intrigue. Explore Ouseburn's green spaces and discover what wildlife you'll find around the Valley.
