There's a lot more to do than eat and drink in Ouseburn, however, our various pubs, restaurants and cafes do a very good job of satisfying every craving.

The Cluny

As well as a great range of beers on tap and as guest bottles, The Cluny serves a tasty menu of food throughout the day. It's famed as one of Newcastle's leading live music venues as well as a great place to grab a casual drink.

The Free Trade Inn

The Free Trade offers a notoriously diverse selection of international beers. It's most famous for its incredible view of the quayside which can be enjoyed from inside and out.

The Tyne Bar

Tyne Bar is quintessentially Ouseburn. With a wonderful setting on the river, it makes for the perfect sunny pint. They have a large selection of beers, wine spirits and soft drinks, and a pub-grub menu is served throughout the day and evening.

Arch2

Set in what used to be a tyre garage, Arch2 is Newcastle Brewing's taproom which is stocked with their own brews. Enjoy a drink in their indoor space or around their firepits under the arches.

The Ship Inn

Although most definitely one of Ouseburn's favourite pubs, the Ship is also a great place to grab some food. They serve one of the best vegetarian and vegan menus in Newcastle.

The Cumberland Arms

A historic venue with an impressive offering of beers and ciders. It'd be no irregularity to wander into the Cumberland and find yourself stepping into a singalong at the piano. During winter, you can snuggle up next to the fire. During the summer, you can enjoy the outside space and frequent food truck guests.

The Tanners Arms

The Tanners Arms sits at the top of Stepney Bank and provides a warm welcome to the Valley. The Tanners is a good spot for a casual drink as well as a bite to eat. Their Sunday roasts are very highly regarded so if you're looking for a home-cooked dinner, give them a try.

Tyne Bank Brewery

As a brewery, Tyne Bank offers a selection of beer and ale brewed on-site. Wine, spirits, and soft drinks are also available. Tyne Bank will often host local street food vendors. Most weekends, this place will most likely be hosting some type of creative event or market.

Brinkburn Street Brewery, Bar & Kitchen

Locally-brewed cask and keg beer for every taste paired with northern-inspired small plates served through the day and evening. A brilliant space with a great atmosphere.

Full Circle Brew Co

With a taproom set directly within the brewery, you can enjoy your drink just metres away from where it was brewed. Full Circle is set in a large warehouse space and is also an ideal events space for private events as well as live performances.

Old Coal Yard

Old Coal Yard is a micro-brewery by Northern Alchemy. Open for just one weekend a month, Old Coal Yard brings in a great crowd and often hosts live music and street food vendors.

The Cook House

The Cook House was opened by Anna Hedworth and began life in a shipping container on Ouse Street. Since then, the restaurant has relocated to a two-story building on Foundry Lane. Widely considered as one of the UK's best restaurants, it's absolutely worth anyone's visit.

Gingerinos Kitchen

Grab pizza by the slice or sit down and enjoy a whole stonebaked pizza in their intimate dining area. Casual and delicious.

Thali Tray

'Thali' refers to the metal tray that your Indian street food is served on. You choose from set trays or select your own dishes to mix on the tray. Whatsmore, this restaurant shares its space with Arch2, a Newcastle Brewing taproom with a wonderful selection of beers.

A great place to enjoy a late breakfast (Bloody Mary optional) or a casual evening meal. Ernest is well known for their delicious flatbreads.

Kiln

Part ceramics studio, part trendy bar, part creative kitchen; Kiln has a unique and very pleasant vibe. You wouldn't feel out of place having a coffee, a beer, or a full-blown meal here.
