Ouseburn Brewery Tours

Ouseburn Valley has long been famous for its breweries and public houses. Today’s scene is in many respects not that much different from its past. We've partnered with five of today's thriving Ouseburn-based breweries to offer you a walking tour that explores local heritage and the best of today's cultural venues in equal doses.

What to expect from the Ouseburn brewery tours

Over this 3.5 hour excursion on a Friday afternoon, you'll get a taste of Ouseburn's brewery and drinking hole history, and a behind-the-scenes look at a minimum of three Ouseburn breweries with a sample at each stop. You'll be joined by an Ouseburn Trust brewery guide who'll share stories of the Valley's beer-based past and take you to each stop. At each stop, you'll hear about the venue's unique history and ethos, get a look inside the brewery and ask the brewers your questions.

Please note, this tour is a celebration of brewery culture rather than a deep dive into mechanics and brewing methods.

Participating breweries

  • Northern Alchemy
  • Tyne Bank Brewery
  • Full Circle Brew Co
  • Brinkburn St Brewery
  • Newcastle Brewing Ltd

Meet the brewers

This is a walking tour so be prepared to cover up to three miles of walking during the afternoon. As Ouseburn is a valley, you're likely to tackle one steep incline during the walk.

Whilst the tour is about celebrating the beer scene, both past and present, visitors must drink responsibly throughout. Samples offered will collectively not exceed two pints. If you do not drink alcohol, most venues will be able to offer a soft drink alternative.

Price: £30 per person

Duration: 3.5 hours | Every first Friday of the month | 3:30pm - 7pm
