The Heritage Group is a collective of Trustees, volunteers and heritage enthusiasts who monitor and drive forward our heritage objectives and projects. The group holds a business meeting every quarter with open themed meetings in the two months in between to explore heritage themes across the valley.  The aims of the Heritage Group are to:

  1. Support the Trust’s program of heritage projects and initiatives
  •  Review performance of heritage projects/initiatives
  • Oversee development plans for growth in these areas
  • Support staff team with review and support in developing funding bids to maximise capacity to deliver the best heritage activity possible.
  • To make recommendations for investment in/further development of heritage initiatives for Board approval
  • Act as champions for The Trust Heritage initiatives and champion conservation of valley Heritage
  • Actively support delivery of Trust activities – for example leading a walk, giving a talk
  • Engage with research activity to ensure it meets Trust aims/adds value to our work
  • Ensure public engagement and enjoyment is maximised

  • Engage with research activity
  • To make recommendations for investment in/further development of heritage initiatives

 The group holds business meetings every quarter and in between holds informal theme meeting open for wider discussion. Meetings are held at 5pm on the second Tuesday of the month, recent themes included:

  • reviewing the heritage signage and interpretation panels 
  • the Trust's photographic archive and how it can be used
