The Ouseburn Trust wants to see a diverse and balanced community in the Valley.

New blocks of student flats are concentrated on the upper western side of the Valley. Currently Adderstones are seeking to develop another block on the site of Uptin House on Stepney Road.

We are delighted to have more housing come to the Valley with Tyne Housing's Farm View and the Carillon-Igloo development at The Malings. More housing will be built on Lower Steenbergs site/Ouse Street (with commercial space underneath) in the next few years.

At 47-49 Lime Street Raskl are developing small business units in re-used shipping containers. Find out more information here.

Further along Lime Street the Euromarket/Banks site may be redeveloped as flats and commercial units.

Our Planning & Development Group monitors and comments on proposed new developments to maintain the special, unique character of the area, and ensure that new developments are high quality and sustainable.

As Ouseburn prospers parking and traffic is becoming more of an issue. The DIY Streets project has been looking at ways to improve the streets for cyclists and pedestrians, while the City Council is introducing changes to the parking provision.

Demand for business space, both for start-ups and expanding businesses, is high and units in the Valley are keenly sought. If you are looking for space for your business get in touch to let us know your requirements and we will keep you informed when we hear of property available.
