Ouseburn Festival (Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July) is a weekend of fun and family-friendly activities across the Valley - this year with a heritage theme. Take a look at the full programme with details of the Parade, Duck Race and all the new and favourite elements that make up the Ouseburn Festival.

As part of this weekend we are bringing a 1940s feel to the Valley, especially as the Victoria Tunnel was used as an air raid shelter for thousands of Newcastle Citizens during the war. Come and visit us:

at 55 Lime Street (opposite Seven Stories) we will have a display of war time posters, 1940s artefacts, and the opportunity to have Tea with Basil who sheltered in the Victoria Tunnel as a ten-year old boy.

at the Victoria Tunnel (on Ouse Street, behind Hotel du Vin) our Volunteer Guides invite you to follow the Air Raid Warden into the shelter, stop at the Nurse's Station and hear the stories of local people who took shelter inside. These short tours are can be booked for the Saturday on the calendar below but on the Sunday tickets cannot be booked in advance but are available on a first-come-first-served basis from 55 Lime Street after 1pm.
