Ouseburn has wonderful woodlands, wild corners and green spaces, with paths and steps for everyone to enjoy the area. 

What can you do to support Ouseburn's green spaces?

Join our Green Team! 

Enjoy fresh air and good company doing varied green space activities in the Ouseburn Valley - depending on current need and volunteers' enthusiasm - often cutting back hedges, clearing paths and steps, litter picking and other tasks to make the Valley look good. You can attend as often as you like, there is no long-term commitment.

• Every Thursday 2pm - 3pm 
• Every Saturday 10am - 12pm 
• Wednesdays 6pm - 7pm from April to September

Meet at our shipping container behind The Ship Inn (NE1 2NP). Gloves & pickers provided. Please wear outdoor-appropriate clothing. 

Adopt a plot

Look after an area or flower bed, keeping it litter free and improving it for people and wildlife. You could do this with friends, other volunteers or as a local business.

Volunteer as a business or staff team

Join us as business environment volunteers for a day or half day team building in the fresh air making a difference to the local area

Lead walks 

If you have specialist knowledge or just enthusiasm for the environment, share your insights about our urban wildlife haven.

Join our environment group 

Meet seasonally to exchange news and plan projects to improve and enhance the natural environment.
