The Clean Green Ouseburn team was started by Ouseburn Futures and has been helping to keep Ouseburn looking good for the last five years. It is now being supported by Ouseburn Trust and with more visitors and families coming to enjoy the area and its green spaces we want to make it a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

The role will involve
  • Litter picking and tidying key areas of Ouseburn Valley
  • Cutting back overgrown areas
  • Maintaining footpaths and steps
  • Planting flowers, bulbs and more

Our volunteers develop new skills, gain confidence, make new friends and find they learn to appreciate the local area in a different way.

Volunteers will need:
  • Enthusiasm
  • To come in sturdy footwear and clothes they don’t mind getting dirty
Training provided

At the start of each session you will be given relevant health and safety guidance and we ask you to follow instructions accordingly. You should act within your own limitations and not carry out any tasks which you feel uncomfortable with.  If you are in any doubt about anything whatsoever during the day please do not hesitate to seek clarification.

Regular volunteers who would like to train to be volunteer supervisors would be very welcome and training to lead small groups of volunteers on environmental improvement sessions can be provided.
